Knave: Second Edition is a headfirst dive into an Old School DnD inspired game and toolkit! Dive into a world filled with deadly monsters, dangerous caverns, and miraculous items to get your hands on. Don your armor, gather your weapons, and step into a world of horrors unknown!
Knave uses a brand new set of game mechanics for both players and game masters. Character generation and gameplay are all unified under one d20 system, which makes building your character and running the game a breeze. The new tactical warfare rules will allow you to perform daring feats of bravery and foolishness as you plunge your blades into dangers beyond comprehension.
Players will find a game that is easy to start and fun to master. Tap into all areas of gameplay with each character, allowing all players to get some proficiency with weapons, armor, magic, and divine influence. The important part will be deciding where you want your character to go, imposing self-restrictions instead of game imposed ones. But beware – your inventories will need to be tracked! Use the simple inventory slot track to help ensure you choose the best of the best items to keep on you. Either fill your pack with special magic items, or keep a load of practical items on you to help guide the party.
Game Masters will have so many dangers and delights to throw at players. Explore the vast swath of monsters and enemies for your players to hunt down, each with their own unique abilities. Once your players have vanquished these monsters, they will be able to brew powerful potions from the monster parts to gain special abilities themselves.
If it’s danger your looking to add, then check out the dozens of d100 tables to add some challenge. If that isn’t enough, then check out the d6 Hazard Die system, allowing you to create dangerous encounters with just the roll of a die!
To keep magic and divine influence interesting, dive into the relationship-driven divine magic system, and the utility based arcane magic system. Dive into your players relationships with the Gods, your world, and manipulate the laws of nature itself in order to create amazing moments that your players will talk about for years to come.

The only question is – when will you Rage?
What werewolf will you create for your game table? Each werewolf tribe consists of their own culture, patron spirit, and renown. Perhaps you will want to become a member of the Black Furies, ready to dismantle and destroy this broken world to create something beautiful in its stead. Maybe you are a Glasswalker, dedicated to using technology to heal the world. With eleven tribes to choose from, there will certainly be one to strike your wolfish fancy.
Next, determine your characters attitude and style with the help of Auspices. When you changed for the first time, what form of the moon was in the sky? Was it the Ragabash (New Moon), filling you with trickster delights? Or was the Ahroun (Full Moon) high in the sky, driving you to attack, destroy, and embrace carnage? Use the five different Auspices to help inform your actions and reactions throughout the game.
Once your werewolf is complete, the hunt begins. Remember: only when Gaia is safe will you rest easy. If you can finally defeat these corrupt industrialists, colonizers, and worst of all, vampires, the world may just be saved.

The Wildfire Virus has spread all around the world, leaving no stone, or corpse, unturned. The last vestiges of humanity fight day by day to survive, scattered across the globe in search of any sign of peace. Those who have lasted this long have gotten by on their wits, instincts, and brutality. The only thing that matters is staying alive, no matter what moral cost.
Things have fallen apart – but could working together rebuild some of what was lost? Could humanity create a new and beautiful future? That much is up to you.
As with other games created by Free League, this game runs on the Year Zero Engine. Roll a number of d6s equal to your Attribute and Skill, and determine successes by the number of sixes you roll. If you score multiple successes, then use those additional wins to activate powerful abilities. If you are in a dire situation and fail your check, you can Push a roll to get a second chance. But be warned – if you fail again, things will get much, much worse.

Enhance your starting class abilities with each Talent, and explore powerful weapons, spells, and all kinds of wild magic abilities to customize your character!

Scour 1920s Paris or New York as you search for your killers… and maybe find something hidden beneath the concrete and stone of your city…
You awake, but do not remember your name. Your memories are hazy, but still present. Your body is misshapen, broken, beaten – dead. Your death was not from natural causes – someone did this to you. There is only one thing left to do – find the person who killed you and bring them to justice. Whether justice is giving them to the police or burying them six feet under is up to you.
But something else is happening here. Machinations are in play, and you will need to cut through the smoke and mirrors to find the truth. Discover who you were, follow the trail to your murderer, and discover what has forced you to remain in the land of the living. Then, maybe, you will find eternal peace.
But beware – if you don’t solve your murder in time, you will have to start all over again. Fail enough times, and you will be forced to relive the same day over and over and over again, doomed to never see the other side of the veil.
Players will choose to play as one of six different character Playbooks. As this game is Powered by the Apocalypse, each archetype will have unique moves that players can activate throughout the game. Build your characters back story with the help of your Fate Weaver (Game Master), answering questions provided by the game. Finally, decide how you were connected to The Shattering Event, the event that has caused this supernatural phenomena.
Explore the city over the course of multiple twenty-four hour days, discovering as much as your can about your demise and the Event. As you begin to perform special actions and make your way to the truth, more and more supernatural Watchers will begin to take notice. These spectral forms may not interfere with your activities, but their presence will make everyday citizens more curious about your situation. And as people begin to look you over, they may discover more than they expected… leading to yet another grizzly end.
