Alchemy is the newest format being introduced in Magic: The Gathering Arena! Alchemy is a Standard adjacent format that will incorporate brand new exclusive rules, mechanics, and cards!
What is this format all about? There are only a few differences between Alchemy and Standard, but they will create some notable changes in play style. You should expect:
- New Cards & Mechanics: Alchemy will have brand new cards and play mechanics! You won’t be able to get these new cards anywhere else, so make sure to grab them where you can. There will be specific Alchemy boosters to purchase on Arena with Gold and Gems. If you are just starting out and don’t have the resources, don’t worry – you will be able to construct decks with Standard legal cards too. Win a few rounds and you will have access to the new boosters in no time.
- Faster Rebalances: With this format being an online exclusive, this means that specialty cards for the format will be tweaked and rebalanced with ease. There will no longer be any wait times for dreaded control meta decks that will abuse their way to victory. Cards will be altered as needed by Wizards of the Coast, ensuring that the meta remains a fair space for play.
Alchemy comes out on December 9th, 2021!
